The Dogtra iQ is a low to medium power, expandable 1-dog system with a simple 3-button design that lets you train your companion pet or house dog effectively and easily. I ordered the training collar over the telephone. The woman I talked to was very nice and new what she was doing. She didn't try to sell me anything other than what I wanted. We had a pleasant conversation.
The collar works very nicely. I bought the small dog training collar despite Duke IX being a German Shepard and weighing 100 pounds He doesn't respond to the vibrating mode but I'm sure if he was a small dog the vibrating mode would work. He respond very nicely to a low setting on the shock part.
We go to the beach every morning and he is off leach most of the time, depending on the bicycle traffic. I highly recommend IQ Small Dog Training collar.

Quick training control

Recently got a year old rescue dog from the local animal shelter. She was always friendly and playful in the yard. (Sometimes too playful). Taking her for a walk was a handful since she just wanted to keep pulling. After one day with the collar and only mild stimulation, she is now a pleasure to take for a walk. She responded so well with only vibration that we changed to the plastic probes. This insures that we don't accidentally hit the stimulate button. Her vibrate response level was 60 or above but her stimulate response level was around 20. We rarely need to hit the vibrate button anymore. She responses so well that when the collar is on, she knows we are in training mode, Now we push the button only to get her attention if she doesn't respond to our voice command. We were initially leery of using a collar device to train a dog. This unit has taken away the frustration and confusion of training.
Pros
Works well. Transmitter and receiver housing are compact and well made. Holds charge for a long time. Comes with metal and insulated probes.
Cons
Turning the unit off is hit or miss with the proximity switch. It may just be getting use to it. But you need to visually verify that the receiver green light is flashing or not.

The Ultimate Solution

Septuagenarian lady brings home German Shepherd puppy during pandemic. Dog is going to outweigh her. No dog training classes due to Covid and multiple deaths in the family, delay obedience lessons. Pictured is Hudson at 7 months, when he began displaying male GSD dominant tendencies, and unnecessary barking. It took me longer to properly charge and position the collar, then it took Hudson to know he was wearing the collar and should behave. After 3 to 4 days of a couple of vibrations that are usually followed by 5 or less shock, I only have to show him the remote and he behaves. I wish the instruction manual was a little clearer about on/off and charging procedure, but this is a great collar.
Pros
It comes with an actual charger that plugs into the wall and WORKS, instead of slow pretending to charge on your computer. It stays charged and it WORKS.
Cons
There are none.

We recently moved and our Lab was barking quite a bit at the new house. She was also not consistently obeying commands that she would normally obey as she was somewhat out of sorts from the move. The training collar has worked wonders and two weeks in I RARELY have to use anything other than the pulse/vibrate. My only wish is that the stimulation dial were a little tougher to turn. It can be turned accidentally causing over or under stimulation if you're not careful. GUN DOG SUPPLY did well with the order, and I would certainly use them again.

Works great for us, as we like to walk our dog off lead as much as possible. Also do a lot of hiking. Great tool to control your dog in a humane way while off lead. Thinking of getting the second collar for our other heeler. Very pleased with this system, as it is the perfect size for our mid sized dogs. Also like the intensity control dial. Like how it doesn't click, but rather moves smoothly up and down.

Very good. Easy to setup and use. The small dog training collar is sufficient for all, but the most stubborn times. Changing the control box from dog 1 to dog 2 can be a little cumbersome when both dogs are acting out, but it is manageable with practice.

The Dogtra iQ Plus Small Dog Training Collar is an excellent product to say the least. After only 3 days, our dog (Chaos) is not running wild, and that is by just putting the collar on her. She listens to every command we give. She swims in our pond, and it is definitely waterproof. A little nick every now-and-again lets her know WE are in charge. I bought this to replace a Sport Dog training collar. I really do not like the intensity control knob on this, because it just has an even rolling dial. The other one 'clicked' as I turned from 1 to 2 to 3 etc. The problem is that in the dark or when not looking at the dial (90% of the time I'm using this) you have no idea what the setting is that you are on. BAD!

I got this for my 50lbs 5 year old Goldendoodle pup, who is a smart and sweet boy, but marches to his own drummer. Cannot keep him out of mud puddles or prevent him from digging up HUGE clumps of grass and then eating it. Sure he comes for a treat, but then resumes undesirable behavior right away. He knows the command "leave it", but chooses to ignore it most of the time. I purchased this Dogtra with the intention of only using the vibrator function, and so far that has worked. Recall is getting better. Steve was kind enough to include a set of vibration only probes with my order. Thank you! I wish the collar had an on/off switch, and because I purchased the plus model the slider moves a bit too easily from I to II, but other than that, I am really happy with this device. Good quality, but pricey.

Both handset and receiver are a nice small size. Electronics seem to work reliably. Easily changed hardish plastic collar for a softer nylon one.
Vibrate button works well.
Only complaint, on/off switch MIGHT be too sensitive. Too early to tell.
