Dogtra Edge RT Range
Collar range is up to 1 mile which is ample for most dog training or hunting situations. Maximum range is based on "line of sight." This means that to get the full range out of a system there should be nothing between the transmitter and the receiver, and the terrain should be flat and open. This isn't going to happen in most places that we spend time with our dogs. The range on all of the systems that we carry will vary depending on training conditions, including weather, terrain, and the presence of cover.
Remember, too much range will never hurt, but too little could be a problem.
With all those buttons, for different types of stimuli? I'd prefer buttons that did different dogs. Running two dogs it's not easy to change back to the other one. Can't feel any stimulation on level one on my arm. Level two tells me I don't want to know about levels any higher!
I bought these with no prior experience with Dogtra. Liked the tall transmitter because it fit like my old Tritronics. Most of the buttons are out of the vest pouch.
Either the old 70 or Exp was better for me. Still mad at Garmin for not supporting those!

This product has performed great so far. We've only been using it for a couple of weeks and already have noticed a positive change in our dog. Very durable and well made. Looking forward to seeing our dog continue to progress using the collar.

Very durable. Our dog sometimes will get a hold of the end of the collar and start chewing it. No damage at all to the collar. Great distance range.

I like this collar. It was an easy transition from my old Tritronics Pro 100. I don't like to have to toggle between continuous and momentary like other collars in the market. The stimulation buttons for both are readily available. I also like that the switch to change dogs is a knob on the top and not a toggle switch like my old collar that was often bumped and turned off stimulation to the dog in training. The only con for me is having to 'marry' the transmitter and collar to turn it on and off. Great collar for the money!

I have had 2 other collars before this one. This one has such an easy way to handle with switching intensity from different buttons. Also, the battery last forever which is nice when running several different dogs a day.

I had to get used to the feel, owner of Tritronics, still have one. Jon at PK suggested this model as I had a young dog run through the Tritronics, he ran through the Dogtra too. It is fine just had to get used to it.

I really like this collar. It is the first collar I have purchased but had been using a friends Tri Tronics 500. The Dogtra was very easy to get used to. The only complaints would be in my case it is almost too hot. My lab can only go to 1 med. Also I think the jump between medium and high are too much. This was all tested on myself and a friend not the dog. The battery life is amazing. I would recommend this collar, just make sure you test it on yourself first so you know the jump in stimulation levels.
