  • Synchronizing a Replacement Collar Receiver to your Transmitter

    1. Turn the Collar Receiver off.

    2. Press and hold the On/Off Button. The Receiver Indicator Light will come on, then turn off in 4-5 seconds. If the On/Off Button is released too early, the Receiver Indicator Light will begin its normal flashing. If this occurs, start over and repeat from step 1.

    3. After the Receiver Indicator Light has turned off, release the On/Off Button.

    4. Press and hold the Upper Button on the Remote Transmitter until the Receiver Indicator Light flashes 5 times. You may need to hold both units 2-3 feet from each other. If the Receiver Indicator Light does not flash 5 times, start over and repeat from step 1.

How to Program the Collar for Two-Dog Operation with the SD-1875

    1. Program the Remote Transmitter to modes 1 - 6.

      B. Turn the Remote Transmitter over.

      C. With a pen or paperclip, depress and release the mode button.

      D. When the mode button is pressed, the Transmitter Indicator Light will be solid in color. When it is released, it will flash the same number of times as the mode selected.

    2. Flip the toggle switch to the orange/up position to program the first Collar Receiver.

      A. Turn the Collar Receiver off.

      B. Press and hold the On/Off Button. The Receiver Indicator Light will come on, then turn off in 4-5 seconds. If the On/Off Button is released too early, the Receiver Indicator Light will begin its normal flashing. If this occurs, start over and repeat from A.

This is our family's 5th purchase of a SportDog SD-1875 collar. We own a hunting preserve and these collars get a daily work out! This recent purchase replaces the first collar that we purchased 6 years ago.
    Pros
    • Long range - we never have trouble recalling the dogs. Long lasting charge.

Review for SportDOG SD-1875 Add-A-Dog Additional Collar / Extra Receiver SDR-AB

Pros: Working range is good. Transmitter buttons, knobs, and switches work great and do not require viewing a display like others.
Cons: Big difference in intensity between 2 and 3 on the intensity dial. Apparently SportDOG is aware of this, as the tech service rep indicated it is a known issue.
Beeper is extremely load. Solution - zip tie and a piece of latex (like from a surgical glove). One or two layers makes it about right.
Overall: Better than other e-collars I have used. Must have liked it, as I now have two.

Review for SportDOG SD-1875 Add-A-Dog Additional Collar / Extra Receiver SDR-AB
    July 29, 2015
I have had this system for years and really like it. Recently got new dog. Needed another collar. Purchased the add on, programming simple. Had a problem with the locator beeper not responding and/or losing it's programming right away. Contacted Sportdog. Without hesitation they sent a replacement beeper locator along with prepaid sticker to ship the defective one back. New one works perfect. Note: have never had a single problem with my original collar setup. Great product and support.

Review for SportDOG SD-1875 Add-A-Dog Additional Collar / Extra Receiver SDR-AB
    December 30, 2013
I love the ability to have my dogs working with one remote and the same settings. The instructions, however, do not make the transition from one dog to two dogs very easy. Videos help but could be better. The section on how the settings work is very confusing, and I still struggle with them. Overall. I fumbled through it and love how it works. I'm also not totally happy with the remote beeper. It should shut off quicker when the dog moves. None the less. It's a very good tool. My dogs and I have responded to it well. In the field. My dogs react just as I have trained them. And I couldn't control them without this tool.

Nice fitting collar. Both dog go wild when they see me pull the collars out knowing that there going hunting. I bought these's collars based on being Steve's top pick. I'm glad I listened to Steve.
