SportDOG SBC-10 Modes:
Progressive Correction: Uses Progressive Correction to correct your dog from barking. The correction starts at the lowest level and increases to the next level (up to 10) each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds, the correction will reset to the lowest level (1).
User-Selection: Manually choose the correction level. If your dog barks, the collar will correct him at the level you've selected (1-10) until he stops barking. The user-selected mode is designed to help train a stubborn dog that will bark through the lower levels of static correction. It allows you to set the proper stimulation level for your dog to stop him from barking instead of beginning at a level 1 and then increasing to the proper level.
Test Mode: You are able to test the static stimulation to ensure the unit is functioning and should be used with the provided Test Light Tool. It should not be used for training as it is not a functional mode of correction for dogs.
Using the SBC-10 NoBark Collar:
IMPORTANT: Do not leave your dog alone the first few times he receives a static stimulation.
Place the Bark Control Collar properly on your dog and wait nearby until he barks. Most dogs will understand quickly that the Bark Control Collar is disrupting their urge to bark and will relax and stop barking. Because the static stimulation may be surprising or startling at first, some dogs may bark more at the initial correction.
On rare occasions, a dog may get into a bark-stimulation-bark-stimulation cycle. If this happens, reassure your
dog with calm, soothing tones. As your dog relaxes, he will understand that if he becomes quiet, he will not receive
more static stimulation. The small minority of dogs that have this reaction will likely only have it the first time they wear the Bark Control Collar.
You should notice a reduction in your dog's barking within the first couple of days that he wears the Bark Control
Collar. At this point, it is important to remember the learning process is still not complete. Dogs will "test" the new
learning experience and will increase their attempts to bark. This usually occurs during the second week a dog
wears the Bark Control Collar. If this does occur, remain consistent and do not alter your use of the Bark Control
Collar. You must place the Bark Control Collar on your dog in every situation when you expect him to be quiet. If your
dog is not wearing the Bark Control Collar, he may resume barking and his learning would suffer a setback.
Fitting the SBC-10 Correctly:
Make sure the NoBark collar is off.
Start with your dog standing comfortably.
Place the collar high on your dog's neck close to the ears.
Center the contact points underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin. It is sometimes necessary to trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent.
Check the tightness of the NoBark by inserting one finger between the end of a contact point and your dog's neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting.
Allow your dog to wear the SBC-10 for several minutes, then recheck the fit as your dog becomes more comfortable with the NoBark.
Charging:
The SBC-10 contains a rechargeable Li-ion battery pack. When the unit indicates the battery is low (red indicator light is flashing) it is time to recharge the unit. Average battery life is 200 hours depending on how often your dog barks. However, due to greater use during your dog's training, your first battery charge may not last as long. The SBC-10 only requires a 2 hour charge. It's not harmful to let the unit charge for more than 2 hours. To conserve battery life, turn the SBC-10 off when not in use.
Before using the SBC-10 for the first time, be sure to charge the unit by following the steps described below:
Align the charging cradle with the charging contacts
Push down on the charging cradle until it snaps into place
Insert the USB cable into the charger
Plug the charger into a standard AC wall outlet
Keep the SBC-10 in an open, well-ventilated area while charging to prevent overheating
Charging is complete when the indicator light begins to flash green
Remove the charging cradle from the SBC-10
Unplug the charger from the wall outlet
Manufacturer's FAQ:
Will the NoBark collar work for my dog?
The NoBark Collar is safe and effective for all breeds and sizes of dogs, though it may be too large for dogs under 8 pounds to wear comfortably. Your dog should be older than 6 months and able to learn basic obedience commands.
Is the NoBark Collar safe and humane?
Yes. The NoBark Collar is designed to get your dog's attention, not to punish him. However, the initial correction may startle your dog.
Will my dog stop barking completely?
The SportDOG SBC-10 effectively and humanely stops barking when it is worn. It should only be worn during periods of unwanted barking.
Will another dog's bark set off the NoBark SBC-10?
No.
Can I attach a leash, rope, or chain to the bark control collar?
No, we don't recommend attaching anything to a bark control collar. This can result in pulling the contact points too tightly against your dog's neck.
Why can't I just leave the collar on all the time?
Proper fit of the collar is important, but a collar worn for too long or made too tight on the dog's neck may cause skin damage.
I use the No Bark collar on my Shorty Jack Russell. My anxiety was thru the roof from his barking at everything. Since I pet the collar on he knows not to bark Oh Happy days so quite.
Pros
The collar is rechargeable
Cons
None that I have found

It's ok for a mild barking dog but if you got a real howler this ain't the one. comes with a nice collar, seems well made, and simple on off button if you want to keep it in the default mode, but if you want to change it, good luck. It's also a little long and doesn't want to stay under my dog neck, want's to work up the side of there neck.
Pros
simple on and off button, comes on a nice collar, seems well made and like the way it charges
Cons
the same on and off button is used to set different levels supposedly but i could not figure it out or how to put it in test mode. its on the long side and doesn't want to stay under the neck were it needs too, it will work it's why to the side of the dog's neck.

The SBC-10 fits the dogs well. A very light unit. Smaller in size fits all my bird dogs with no problem. The SBC=10 is easy to program. Since the unit is programmable is were the rub comes in if you can remember how to change the programing if you need to down the road. The other unit they make has a dial to turn on and off but not the self learning settings. I wanted to try the self learning program where the dog barks and the unit corrects at the lower levels and advances up until the dogs no longer barks. The older unit with the dial you pick the level settings. you can do that with this SBC-10 also but then you have to set it up in the programing mode. Both units work well.
Pros
Programmable with the learning mode. light look very durable
Cons
setting up the program is easy. changing the program for multiple dogs or remembering how to program unit in 6 months

So far so good

I have only been using this for about 6 days so far. We have 2 outside dogs. One likes to bark all night and the other you don't hear a peep out of. We have a lot of wildlife living in the country and she barks at everything. I will hear her bark a couple of times, and then she stops and we hear her no more during the night. So, I am thrilled with the bark collar so far.
Pros
Easy to operate and holds a charge for a long time.
Cons
none so far.

Very pleased with this collar

With two herding breed dogs in the back yard, it can get a little crazy on the barking. This collar has been extremely effective. The optional longer prong works well for our cattle dog with dense fur around his neck. The original standard prong works perfectly for our Australian shepard.
Pros
Battery is rechargeable, don't have to purchase replacement batteries.
It starts low impulse and with continued barking, it progressively ramps up another notch unlike our other collar that just stayed at the same intensity. Both dogs can wear the same collar as it is triggered by both vibration from the dog's throat and sound.
Cons
I haven't found any CONS for this collar. So far, the charge has lasted a long while. Stays put in place on the dog's neck. Nice upgrade from our original collar, which we thought was good at the time. Definitely worth it, you won't be disappointed with the results.

Stopped my dogs barking immediately
January 21, 2021
I charged it up, put it on my young pointer and got immediate results he first night.
Pros
Easy to charge and rechargeable system is great. It works great. I put in on my young pointer two nights in a row. No barking. Apparently it taught him not to bark because he hasn't barked in a week even without the collar. I am sure he will need some reinforcement training soon, but so far, so good.
Cons
None that I find so far, but only have had it for a few weeks.
