Very satisfied with my purchase! The information given in this video is very well laid out. I really like how they use dogs that are just beginning their training. Let's you see how dogs will react to training. Don't let the reviews about the film quality keep you from purchasing. Sure it's not filmed in 4K but all the footage is clear and easy to understand.

Great video one of the best training videos I have seen...

The techniques and principles in these videos are timeless but the video footage itself is dated. These videos really need to be remade with better technology.

This is the second time I purchased Perfect Start. The first was a VHS tape. When i got the new CD i found it to be the same as the old VHS with no quality improvements or updates. Instruction is great quality is poor. i still think Perfection Kennels is one of the best training programs though. Sorry I couldn't five stars.

The Perfect Start video demonstrates a complete, humane & thorough training progression of how to ingrain the necessary pointing dog commands while also amplifying your pup's excitement & hunting intensity by means of controlled exposure to numerous bird encounters. The proper use of a Training Collar is thoroughly covered and demonstrated so that it is used to effectively train a pup versus it's incorrect use as a negative reinforcement shock collar. Overall, it strikes me as an excellent and humane approach to training a pointing bird dog that harkens back, in a unique way, to Delmar Smith's training mantra of Point of Contact, Association and Repetition. First and foremost, this video trains a handler to be a most effective bird dog trainer. BTW, I'm just a dude strolling the planet with a bird dog and a dream.

Informative video but quality of image is old VCR quality... it's hard to see/understand what's going on in some of the scenes.... Needs to be digitally remastered for the price they are asking.

This is a straight forward, easy to understand method of training your dog.
By using the dog's natural instincts and shaping them to reach the goal of a well mannered and happy hunting partner is perfect!
I will review these regularly to keep myself sharp for my dog!

He shows you the same dogs as they progress so you get a more lifelike or reality training scenario.

Great training information, but the quality of filming and sound is poor. Need to upgrade their video's to better quality.

I'm a big fan of Jon Hann and Perfection Kennel's philosophy and techniques on Dog training. I would recommend this DVD to new and experienced Gun Dog trainers. New trainers will get everything they need when starting a Dog. Experienced trainers could possibly find a new way of training upon the starting process, I sure did.
The Perfect Start and The Perfect Retrieve DVD's are fantastic.

The material in this DVD is great, but the film quality and formatting leave a lot to be desired. Great material, but for this price I was expecting top notch cinematography. Overall, I would put the value at about 1/2 of the retail price.

Great video for starting your dog training, or in my case, a refresher.

Very good DVD especially for someone new to training a pointing dog. The video quality itself could be better considering the cost but it is still a good resource. Jon Hann goes into a lot of detailed explanation on his methods and that should make it easy enough for someone to attempt on their own.

Excellent DVD. They demonstrate their training program on several dogs for each exercise, so you can gain a better understanding of how they apply it to different dogs with varying dispositions.

This is a must own video, if you follow this you WILL give your dog the perfect start to his career.
