Garmin PRO Bark Collar Bundle Overview
The Garmin PRO Bark Collar is able to distinguish between barking and other vocalizations by using innovative "Advanced Bark Correction Technology" powered by micro electro-mechanical acceleration sensors. It delivers consistent and instantaneous correction, virtually eliminating false corrections caused by external noises.
Garmin PRO Bark Collar Bundle Features:
Autorise Stimulation
Autorise Stimulation mode automatically increases the stimulation to the correct level as your dog barks. It will also increase levels if a high distraction situation causes your dog to bark excessively. This way you do not have to go through the task of testing levels to see what your dog needs.
How Autorise works: The Autorise feature starts at level 1 when the unit is turned on. When your dog barks he will get a correction on level 1. If he barks again he will get a second correction on level 1. If he barks a third time, the unit will increase stimulation by two levels. If your dog continues to bark he will get two corrections at the new level before the collar increases two more levels. Once the collar reaches the needed level to get the dog to stop barking, it will slowly lower the stimulation by one level at a time. If your dog barks again while the unit is at the lower level, the unit will start at that level and then increase again as needed. Over time, the unit will return to level 1 once your dog has stopped barking for an extended period of time.
Bark Odometer
The Bark Odometer counts the number of times your dog is corrected while wearing the collar and counts them back to you when you turn the unit off. To activate the Odometer, hold the power button until the unit turns off. The Odometer will then flash the number of corrections since the last time the unit was turned on. A red flash=10 barks and a green flash=1 bark.
Rechargeable Lithium-ion Batteries
The rechargeable PRO Bark Collar approximately has 60-hour battery life. This will vary depending on how much your dog barks while wearing the collar and how many hours a day your dog wears the collar. The batteries are user-replaceable and last 3-5 years with proper care.
Battery Strength Indicator
The color of the light will tell you the condition of the battery. Green means "good," yellow means "charge," and red means "dead." The unit will work in yellow mode but immediate attention is recommended. The unit will not work at all when the light is red.
Interchangeable Contact Points
Includes long and short standard probes plus long and short extended wear comfort probes.
Waterproof Plastic Lexan Molded Case
Built to withstand all kinds of training conditions with no exposed charging ports to gather debris and no covers to remove for charging.
Add Remote Training Functions Later
Think you might need a remote training collar down the road? The PRO Bark Collar Bundle gives you the option of adding a PRO series handheld later if you need it. Compatible units include:
The Garmin PRO Bark collar is the regular PRO PT 10 training collar, but once you put it in "Bark Mode" it functions as a stand-alone bark collar. This setup is the most expensive bark collar we sell, but I prefer it for a couple of reasons:
For folks that have dogs that need to wear a bark collar on a regular basis, the PRO Bark comes with "Extended Wear" plastic probes. These are perfect for dogs that get neck irritation from wearing a bark collar daily. I have found that these probes virtually eliminate pressure necrosis on even the most sensitive dogs that need a collar every day.
The other reason that I use it as my bark collar is that it allows me to have a "backup" remote training collar system without carrying extra gear, especially when I am traveling with my dogs. I also want to have bark collars with me while staying at hotels with my dogs.
I use a Garmin Pro 550 3-dog as my backup e-collar system. The three collars double as bark collars. This way I have both if needed, and the collars get used regularly which is better for the batteries.
You can do the same thing using the Sport PRO system. The Sport PRO transmitter gives you the ability to program direct-set stimulation levels in bark collar mode. If you use the PRO 550, your bark collars can only be set to Rising Stimulation mode.
For me, an additional advantage of using my PRO 550 backup e-collars as PRO Bark collars is that they use the same charging cables as Garmin Alpha TT15 MINI collars, so I can carry fewer chargers for all my gear. It's a win, win, win!
The Garmin PRO Bark has all these advantages over other bark collars, but the options and combinations can be a bit confusing. If you are not sure which bark collar setup is better for your needs, do not hesitate to give us a call.
