The Dogtra 280C is a low to medium power 1-dog system featuring an LCD screen to let you easily set and control stimulation levels. It is gentle enough for even the most mild mannered dogs, and includes many of the features of Dogtra's pro-line collars. It features a 1/2 mile range, a reduced-size waterproof collar receiver for a perfect fit on smaller dogs (15 lbs. and up), and a compact waterproof transmitter.
The 280C training collar offers a choice of continuous stimulation, momentary ("nick") stimulation, and non-stimulating vibration ("page").
The Dogtra 280C is an ultra compact 1-dog system that packs all the features of the larger Dogtra units into a system designed for dogs as small as 15 lbs. Dogtra 280C 1-dog Range
Up to 1/2 mile range which is ample for off leash dog training or for hunting with medium range field dogs. Actual range depends on training conditions, including weather, terrain, presence of cover, etc.
The Dogtra 280C is the next step up from the 200C. The biggest advantage that it has over the 200C is the LCD screen that shows your level. This allows you to see what correction level the transmitter is on with a quick glance.
You also get a 3 bar battery level indicator that shows how much of a charge you have left in the transmitter.
Have used this with my English field cocker spaniel (<25lbs) and has been great. Solid construction, long range. Haven't even had to use the shock yet, he responds to the vibrate function well but having the shock let's me run him off leash around small game with the confidence he won't run off.

I like the small remote, as it fits into my hand easily. Had one years ago and the improvement on the one I have not is great. Like the front screen to see what level I have it set on.

This Dogtra e collar works like a well trained hunting dog, it does what it is supposed to do. This is my second Dogtra, I have a 900s for my Springer and now I have a 280c for my smaller English Cocker. Guess what, now she is listening with a light reminder, soon we will be a working team.

I have used ecollars for many years. I started with tritonics then used Dogtra and tried some other brands. I came back to Dogtra. Love the ease of use. Simple is better. At least for me.

Cons
If they battery wears out it's hard to fix if at all possible. Wish they had a trade in when needing a new one.

This is our second collar. I have a new puppy. Husky are strong minded breed. We wanted to start right with this little one. This is our third Husky, and we wanted to train her to stay in the yard, and it's working well. Plus she was pretty mean to the cats, and it's helped with that.

Works great, and it's a very small package. I have it on a 30 lb English Cocker, and he works on 18 out of the 127 levels. The battery life seems good despite the small package, and it charges very fast. Stimulus is near instant from transmitter to receiver.
