Customer Review #25168

I dog train 5 to 6 days a week with pro's and training group. I like this because unlike a pistol there are no moving parts. Very simple and never fails. Rains or Snows on it no problem.

Labs. Owns 2 dogs. Hunts.

There are a couple of issues with this device. First, is that the arm that swings free in order to ignite the primer gets stuck in the open position, thereby causing it to fail to fire. I have to constantly apply gun grease to it in order to avoid this, otherwise it is unusable. Second, it has to be reloaded after each shot, and reloading is a PAIN. Opening the device and removing the used primer is a struggle almost every time. Because it cant be holstered and it takes two hands to operate after every shot, you almost need one person dedicated to operating the device. THE ONLY REASON TO BUY THIS PRODUCT IS IF YOU TRAIN IN AN URBAN AREA WHERE STARTER PISTOLS ARE PROHIBITED. If this is the case, this is your best option.

Product Rating: 3 out of 5-stars.

Built strong but very heavy and cumbersome to carry. You fire one at a time which I knew, but didn't think it through on how annoying it is to re-load after every single shot. Plus now that I have used it, way to expensive for what it does. You are better off buying a less expensive starter pistol. I don't recommend this product.

It's heavy, awkward to carry around in the field. I knew it was single shot but I should have thought it through. It's a pain to reload every time. If I can do it over again I would have ordered the revolver starter gun.
