Garmin Delta XC Remote Training Collar

By: Elise McClintick From NC

My Champion Great Dane developed a lick granuloma on his rear hock. I'm a stay at home 'dog Mom', and this collar was a last ditch resort. What gave me the idea is there is a product out there called Stop Lick that is applied like a bandage. It provides a little charge when the dog licks it. Well, that might have worked, but it never stayed on. Neither did a special custom made bandage exactly measured for his hock; neither did doggie prozac or xanax or bitter apple or 5 million NO LICK admonishments from me. In fact, I'm convinced Jack thought his name had been changed to NO. So...I purchased the electronic collar. He's worn a No bark collar, so Jack wasn't suspicious of the new collar. I hit the Tone button set on 8 a few times as he started to lick. Then if he went for one more lick, I hit the vibrate button. So far, so good. It's been about two weeks and his hock is healing nicely. He has not had a charge off the collar...yet. Danes are relatively smart dogs. The Tone stops him for now. Will keep you posted.
